Benriach 22Y.O. 1998 Cask 10298 Batch 17 ages for twenty-two years in barrels of fine Marsala wine.
The Benriach distillery, founded in 1898 by John Duff, takes its name from the Gaelic, in fact it means “the hill of the red deer” thanks to its proximity to the Teindland forest where deer are very common. Benriach can count on the supply of water from the Bourmade source, which has grown over time and has now become a point of reference thanks to its centenary malting flor. Aging plays a central role for the company, with a skilful use of different barrels that characterize each product making it unique.
This single malt has hints of baked pears, apricot and clementine jam, with soft sweet spices and dark sugar. In the mouth caramelized apricot, spicy orange and hazelnut, layered with vanilla icing and ground nutmeg. Vinous and persuasive finish
